Today we hiked in the Swiss Alps and ventured to the Top of Europe. We started with a cable car ride from Wegen to Manchein, which lead us into the mountains. In the mountains we took a 45 minute hike to Klein Scheidegg.
Here are a few pictures of what the scenery looked like during our hike to Klein Scheidegg.
From Klein Scheidegg we took the train to the Jungfrau. The Jungfraujoch is the highest train station in Europe and sits at 11,300 ft. Once we reached the Jungfraujoch we toured the ice palace, ate lunch, and enjoyed the amazing views. The ice palace is a series of underground tunnels completely made of ice, it was very cold but amazing how they could build such a place. After eating some lunch, we headed to the Spinx, which is the top viewpoint of the Jungfraujoch, and then we headed to see the skiing and dog-sledding area.

After the train back to Kleine- Scheidegg we decided to save some money and hike back to Wegen. From Klein-Scheidegg it didn’t seem like a bad idea because it was all downhill, but it was a little too steep for our liking and was not as enjoyable as we thought it was going to be, but we made it back to Wegen for the train.

We saw some Swiss cows on our way down. All Swiss cows have a cowbell around their neck, so it is easy to know when cows are around.
After our hike down the mountain, we headed to Gimmelwald and Murren. Gimmelwald is a Swiss town that is only accessible by cable car. Both Gimmelwald and Murren are small, simple towns in the mountains. Murren is a little bigger than Gimmelwald and is known as a ski town in the winter.

After returning from Gimmelwald and Murren, we decided that we needed to do laundry. At the laundry mat in Lauterbrunnen we were able to wash our clothes, but the laundry mat closed at 9:00pm and our clothes were done washing at 9:00pm, so we didn’t have time to dry them. We used the resources in our hotel room and were able to get most of the clothes dry by morning.
