Keeping Ourselves Busy...

With all this hot weather and a baby who likes to be on the go crawling, it's been hard to find things to keep ourselves busy.  We have managed to find a few things...

 Taunting Daisy
(*please note: this is one of the rare and I mean rare times Daisy is outside, she spends most of her days inside in the air conditioning.  Spoiled Dog!)

 Crawling obstacle course
I found this idea on this website, one of my fb friends posted.  I'm always up for cheap homemade activities, so I'm hoping to do a lot more of these activities.  I also get some activities from here.

Trying on new shoes
I bought Leah her first pair of sandals awhile ago and I thought I'd see how she liked them.  She was a little unsure about the things on her feet, but it was so cute to watch her after I put them on.
P.S. You might recognize the dress from here.

9 Month Pictures

We took Leah to Portrait Innovations to have some 9 month pictures taken.  Here are a few of the pictures I put into a collage.    We didn't end up getting any prints in the denim dress and we liked the ones in the red chair the best.  We've got plenty of pictures so if you'd like some let me know!

P.S. I know I'm way behind on her "Letters to Leah" post, I even took the pictures over a week ago, it's coming soon!

Letters to Leah Month 9

Happy 9 month Birthday Leah!
I really can't believe you're 9 months already!  Where did the last month go, it seems like you changed so much from 8 months to 9 months!

Here are some of your stats and happenings this month:
-You weigh 17.5ish lbs (we go to the dr. next month so I'll update your stats then).
- You're still wearing size 2 diapers, but once we're done with this package we'll be switching to size 3s.
- You're still wearing 9 month clothes, although you've worn a few 12 month clothes and a few of your 9 month onesies are too small, you're long.
- You are crawling all over the place and have started pulling yourself up.
- Your first tooth is just starting to poke through, although you sure don't act like you're teething, you're still a happy baby.
- You're still taking 3 naps a day, we can get away with just two, but you're much happier with the third nap.
- You're eating 3 meals a day and still like to feed yourself.
- You're squirmy and love to be on the move.
- We had a little bit of a nap regression once you started crawling, but it turns out it was for the best because I now no longer rock you to sleep.
- We can't wait to see how much you change from 9 to 10 months!

Taking your pictures this month was quite a challenge!

A Weekend of Firsts on the Fourth (Part 3)

The final first of Leah's fourth of July weekend was attending her first Cardinal game.  While I've wanted to take Leah to a game for quite some time, it just seems like it never works out, the timing interferes with bedtime, it's too hot, too cold, rainy, etc.  This game turned out to be perfect; perfect weather, perfect timing, perfect company, perfect game length and not to mention a win!  Leah was a hit with the people around us, the older (probably 70) man behind us was convinced Leah liked his mustache and another man commented "oh, you're going to be a distraction".  Leah continued her no napping streak and stayed awake the entire game. What a perfect way to end a great weekend!

 Playing peek-a-boo with dad's hat
She looks so sleepy here, but she stayed awake

There was even a rainbow during the game

A Weekend of Firsts on the Fourth (Part 2)

Leah's second first on the Fourth was swimming.  I was a little worried about her swimming (warning new mom moment ahead) because I didn't want the hot sun burning her baby soft skin, but Saturday ended up being the perfect day to swim because it wasn't too hot and was cloudy.  In her normal relaxed fashion, she didn't have too much to say about the water, I think overall she enjoyed it and found it relaxing.

A Weekend of Firsts on the Fourth (Part 1)

Our Fourth of July was filled with many firsts for Leah:
On Friday Leah experienced her first trip to the St. Louis Zoo with Trent, and Tim's parents, Jim and Robyn.  I think we picked the hottest day of the year to go to the zoo, but Leah did great.  The zoo wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be, I can't decide if that is because everyone else was smart and stayed in the air-conditioning or if the zoo is that big and we didn't run into that many people.  My favorite part of the day was the fact that the zoo is free and it didn't cost us a thing.  We're hoping to return in the fall when it's not so hot!
Much to everyone's surprise, Trent decided to borrow Leah's stroller and ride through the zoo.
I love this picture of them looking at each other, I think they're saying "Are these people nuts, do they realize how hot is it out?"

Now we can officially cross it off the St. Louis To-Do List
