Baby Things

Here are a few more baby things we've acquired/ purchased in the last few weeks.

We picked up this glider this weekend.  It was a gift from my dad and I'm sure it will get many hours of use!
We purchased this "play-yard" this weekend, this is where the baby will lay it's head the first few weeks.

I'm guessing you can figure out who made this purchase.

I went to a consignment sale this week and found this cute little star wrap.  I remember Natalie or Emily having one of these and thinking it was so cute, so for $5 I couldn't resist.
Here is the room so far, stay tuned for an update as to why it looks so bare.

Here are the clothes we have so far, I'm not really sure how many we need, but I'm hoping this will give us a good start and at least get us through until we know if we need pink or blue.

Decisions, Decisions

Who knew having a baby required so many decisions? Ok, so I knew, but our little one isn't even here yet and there are still a ton of decisions to make. For this one I figured it get everyone's input.
Papa Jim (Tim's dad) is making the baby bed and dresser, our job is to pick out dresser knobs. I had no idea there were so many dresser knobs out there to choose from. So after hours of looking, here are a few that I've run across that I like, I'm just having trouble picking the winner.
First here is our bedding,

The bedding is called Alphabet Soup, and I first saw it on a friend of mine's blog. She just had a baby in May and they went for a gender neutral theme, too. I've known for quite sometime that I wanted to include red in the nursery, so this seemed to fit.
Anyway, onto the knobs...
This set I found on ebay and is actually called Alphabet Soup.
I found this set on ebay, too and it's called Alphabet Soup as well.
These are exactly like that Trent has on his dresser. If we get these I'd like to paint one of them red and see if we could find a 1,2,3 to go with them.

These also come in blue and yellow, so I'd probably get a combination of the three colors.
What do you think??

Baby Things... Mostly Quilts

I know I've really been lacking on the baby posts, so here is one I thought you might all enjoy. We've been busy with so many other things that I feel like we are a little unprepared, hopefully these next 5 weeks are productive.

One thing I know that baby won't be short on is quilts and blankets, here are a few of the ones we've received as gifts.
Here is the stack of quilts and blankets. I imagine they'll find their way into a basket, but I just haven't made it that far yet.

I've had my eye on something like this quilt ever since I saw it on the Moda Bake Shop Website. My mom was able to "whip it up" with fabric she had lying around and I love it!
One weekend this summer my mom and I found a "layer cake" of this fabric and I knew I wanted to do the nursery in these colors. We bought the layer cake, which is basically 42 10 inch squares, and this is what my mom came up with. I think it turned out so cute!
Another one of Debbie's creations. This quilt is made from three of the same pieces that you layer on top of each other and then cut. When you cut them, it makes them look like chenille.
Every baby needs a baby afghan and this one is perfect. Tim's mom made it and I can't wait to lay baby McClelland on it!

Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

This is what I sent to a few family and friends and showed to my students to let them in on our news...

Right after my students guessed it one of my boys responded, "Well I just thought you were getting fat." Gee thanks!
