The Year in Pictures

I love it when the Today Show does their "Year in Pictures", I always think they are amazing pictures and it's so neat to look back on the events of the year.  I thought I'd recap our year in pictures, mine aren't as amazing as their pictures, but you get the idea.

Came home from Christmas to over a foot of snow.
 Went skiing at Copper Mountain
Went to Disney World with Tim's family.
Saw George Strait and Reba at the Sprint Center
Went to San Francisco to celebrate five years
Found out about Leah
(I just found out it was a baby, Tim found out it was a girl!)
Spent a week in Des Moines
Had baby showers

Became a family of 4 on Oct. 19th
(Don't forget about Daisy!)
Moved out of our house on Oak Street

And into our house in St. Louis

Celebrated our first Thanksgiving as a family of 4
And our first Christmas!
2010 was a pretty good year, new baby, new city.  Hopefully 2011 is just as exciting with a few less life-changing events! (I don't need another baby or another move!)

Letters to Leah Month 2

Happy 2 Month Birthday, Leah!
Here are some of your happenings for your 2nd month:
- You weigh 9 lbs (5th percentile) and are 23 inches long (62nd percentile)- you are long and lean.  Your head circumference is 15.16 inches (32nd percentile)
- You wear size 1 diapers except at night you wear size 2
- You're not a big napper, but you sleep good at night (9-10 hours), so we're okay with your cat naps.
- You're generally a very happy baby, but when you get mad, you get really mad
- Sometimes you have trouble falling asleep, but you're getting much better
- You have the cutest pouty face, I'm still trying to get a picture.  (Mary Kay was able to get a picture)
- You have the cutest smile and it melts my heart when you smile at me in the mornings.
Here are some pictures of your 2nd month:

Debuting...

Leah's new blog!

We had some fun with her blocks!
We've started a new site for Leah, we're going to try to add a picture of her every day (no guarantees).  Tim and I both have apps on our phones that allow us to update, so hopefully we'll stick with it.  So far we're only on day 50, only 315 more to go!  It's missing a few days, so as I have more time I'll go back and add pictures.
Enjoy!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas! Part 2

We started putting up our Christmas decorations the week before Thanksgiving and finally finished them this weekend, not sure what took us so long!  Tim put up the tree and the lights, I added the ornaments and other touches.

This is how Leah spent her time while we worked on the tree.
Tim put up the outside lights this weekend, I usually have to help with this process and it's not one of my favorite things to do.  This year I had an excuse not to help and I sure was glad! Thanks, Leah!
Our stockings are hung on the mantel with care.
 Our tree
This is Leah's special ornament that she got to hang on the tree.
Thanks Grandma Debbie!

Another reason it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, Leah's wearing her Christmas clothes.

The only present under our tree, but she's the only one we need!

Thanksgiving 2010

For Thanksgiving this year we headed to my mom & dad's for a few days with family and more introductions for Leah.

This was how Leah looked for the 7 hour drive.  She did surprisingly well, but man traveling with a baby takes a lot longer!

Leah spent some quality time with Great-Grandma Siefers
Leah got to meet 7 out of her 8 cousins, this is her meeting Hallie, Natalie, and Emily
(Sorry we missed you Matt, Lori, & Brooklyn, hope you're feeling better!)
Grand Auntie Mary Kay with Leah & Avery
4 Generations Leah, Jody, Grandma Debbie, and Great-Grandma Siefers
7 Hours in a car didn't seem to bother her too much, I captured these pictures when we got home.
"What, I get to go back at Christmas? I can hardly wait!"

Video of Leah

I took this video of Leah yesterday while she was playing with her Baby Einstein play mat and I thought it was too cute not to share.  She likes looking at the light-up sun/ star at the top and if you turn up your volume you can hear her "talk".  I tried to keep it short, but don't feel like you have to watch it.

Letters to Leah One Month

Where has time gone?
You turned 1 month on Nov. 19th.
You now weigh 8 lbs 2 oz and are 21 1/2 inches long.
Here are some other things you've accomplished this first month:
- You're sleeping 6-7 hour stretches
- Outgrown newborn diapers, you now wear a size 1
- Smiling, we love your little grins
- Outgrown newborn clothes, you are now wearing 0-3 month clothes
- Rolled from tummy to back (this one came a little after your 1 month birthday, but we'll count it)
- You still aren't quite sure about a pacifier, sometimes you like it, sometimes you don't
- We are still working on a bed time routine
- You are most awake first thing in the morning and in the evening, I have a feeling you'll be a night owl like your mom and dad.

Here are a few pictures from your first month:
