Day 5- Lake Geneva & Swiss Alps

Day 5- June 27th

We continued our trip through Switzerland and left Bern to head to Lauterbrunnen. On the way to Lauterbrunnen we stopped at Montreux to see Lake Geneva and Chateau de Chillon. Montreux so far has been my favorite city. It is located right on the edge of Lake Geneva with the Swiss Alps in the background. We walked along the lake to Chateau de Chillon, which is a castle located on an island in Lake Geneva. At the castle they gave us an audio tour to follow as we toured the castle, which turned out to be very helpful. The castle is still furnished as it was in the medieval ages, which includes the 700 year old toilets.

Here is a picture of the Chateau de Chillon along Lake Geneva.

Here is a view from the chateau. Who wouldn’t love to have this view from their castle?

After touring the chateau we headed back to the train station to take the Golden Pass, a scenic train through the Swiss Alps.

Here is Jody on the Golden Pass train.

Here is a picture out of the window of the Golden Pass train.

After arriving at our hotel in Lauterbrunnen we took a little hike to enjoy the scenery.
